Rail Service Delays Expected at Union Station Due To  Amtrak and VRE Cancellations

Hurricane Florence to Impact MARC Train Service

BALTIMORE, MD (septiembre 12, 2018) – Due to Amtrak and VRE’s cancellations of southbound trains because of Hurricane Florence, MARC trains will experience delays arriving and departing Union Station Thursday, September 13. At this time, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) will run a full-service schedule for MARC Train on Thursday. MDOT MTA is closely monitoring the progression of Hurricane Florence as it approaches the Carolinas.

Decisions regarding a reduction or curtailment of MARC Train Service on Friday will be made when a clear picture of the potential impact on the area becomes available. Riders are encouraged to check the MARC Train Advisories webpage for further information as well as to follow MDOT MTA on social media for the latest updates.

MDOT MTA is one of the largest multi-modal transit systems in the United States. MDOT MTA operates LocalLink and commuter buses, Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train service and a comprehensive Mobility (paratransit) system. MDOT MTA’s goal is to provide safe, efficient and reliable transit across Maryland with world-class customer service.
